The mayor of Salou and president of the municipality's Tourist Board, Pere Granados, has met telematically with the counselor of Turespaña in Russia, Antonio de la Morena, to establish collaborative actions that allow the recovery of Russian tourism for Salou once it is overcome the pandemic situation.
Both Granados and de la Morena have shared information on the current economic and tourist scenario, and the various actions to be taken to maintain the attention of Russian tourists in Salou have been exposed. Actions that, from Russia, for example, go through gastronomic and oenological workshops, language training, knowledge of festivals and traditions, etc.
The representative of Turespaña has emphasized the need to grant tourist visas to restore normality in terms of travel, and highlighted the desire of the Russian market to return to summer in the capital of the Costa Dorada.
The manager of the Tourist Board, Marc Espasa, and technical staff of the tourism promotion body were also present at the meeting. Espasa has defined the Russian market as a close market, taking into account the good connection with Salou. In this sense, the mayor recalled Salou's gastronomy offer with a Michelin star, its landscape and the region's wealth of wine production with important high-quality designations of origin.
