Salou. Costa Dorada. 01 October 2021.
Alannia Resort Salou, a new tourist complex built horizontally and with a capacity for about 750 guests, will open its doors next May 2022 and will do so with the aim of staying in operation throughout the year. The offer of accommodation in Salou between the months of October to May is currently reduced to three hotels and it is for this reason that the Salou city council welcomes this new offer with great optimism as it is in line with the seasonal adjustment of the tourist season.
The Alannia Resort Salou is being built on Pompeu Fabra street on an area of 25,000 square meters. Formerly this space was occupied by the La Unión campsite. Alannia, which has two establishments in Alicante and two more on the Costa Dorada, one of them in Mont-roig del Camp and the other in Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant, will invest more than 18 million euros in the new complex from Salo that has wood as the main element and where ecological and sustainability criteria are followed throughout the process. The complex is divided into 90 modules with 4 rooms each one and, therefore, will have 360 rooms. Each of them has an area of 25 square meters and is equipped with a double bed, a sofa, a toilet, a shower, a mini fridge and a small wardrobe. The rooms, which will be decorated with photographs related to the natural spaces of Salou, can be connected internally.
In addition to the space for accommodation, the complex will have a large service building with bar establishments, restaurants and common areas with all kinds of services, with a large square for holding all kinds of events and with ample space for swimming pools and water areas. The complex, once in operation, will directly employ between 100 and 150 people. In addition, it is planned that all payments can be made through electronic systems in order to do without cash. These details have been made known by the general director of Alannia Resorts, Fernando Garijo, during a visit to the works by the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, who has been accompanied by the councilor for Land and Housing Management, Marc Montagut.
In relation to this work, Garijo has affirmed that the construction process that is being followed is pioneering for the company and that all applicable criteria of circular economy, sustainability, isolation, energy use, etc. are taken into account. Thus, for example, hot water will be obtained through aerothermal systems, wood is the main element, insulation is of high quality, etc.
As for the establishment's main clientele, which will have a 4-star category, the profile is family tourism during the summer months and senior and sports tourism during the rest of the year.
For his part, the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, stressed that the management carried out by the consistory generates confidence among investors and hence this and other projects planned in Salou.
The Alannia company, which manages more than 2,500 accommodation places, was rewarded for managing Alannia Els Prats Camping Resort, a complex located in Mont-roig del Camp, which at the beginning of this year was selected as one of the best campsites in Europe, a distinction jointly awarded by the ANWB association of the Netherlands and the German ADAC.
