Salou was the first destination to obtain a Sports Tourism certificate and more recently it has added the
Cycle Tourism and Golf certificate in Catalonia. In addition, the capital of the Costa Dorada has an
excellent infrastructure of facilities and spaces for the practice of different sports disciplines.The sum of all these ingredients could not be other than discovering that Salou is a top-level sports destination, in which you can participate or enjoy
19 different sports activities from January to December 2023.Here we present the
Salou 2023 sports calendar:1-
Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors: Stage (preparation phase) of the Korean league champion team, in January, at the Futbol Salou Sports Center.

Sailing Training Camp: Stages for Nordic European sailors, especially sailing, so that they can train with good weather conditions, in a period in which it is not possible in their countries. It will take place in winter, in the Nàutic Parc.

International Golf Cup of S.M. el Rey: International tournament for men, of various ages, that positions Salou in the field of golf. From February 27 to March 5, at Infinitum Golf Club.

Salou Half Marathon: Classic Half Marathon event in Salou, which will take on a prominent role in 2023, with greater integration in the municipality and with greater participation than in recent years. It will be held on March 11, around the city.

Fam Trip Manchester City: Action to promote the Manchester City Women's team, included in the Joint Promotion Program between the Hospitality and Tourism Business Federation (FEHT), the municipalities of Salou, Cambrils, Vila-seca, and the Diputació from Tarragona. It will consist of a visit by the British team to Salou, to see its facilities. This initiative was already carried out in 2022 and has had a very good performance. It will take place in the spring.

Spanish Championship of Regional Minibasket Teams: This year, Salou, together with Tarragona and the Catalan Basketball Federation, has managed to bring this competition to the destination at a national level, where the different regional teams will compete for the championship in the tourism capital of the Costa Daurada. It will be held from April 1 to 5, in the Salou and Tarragona pavilions.

XIII Mare Nostrum Basket Costa Daurada Salou: This is an event rooted in the municipality, which is held every year around Holy Week, and the number of participants increases each time, until reaching a thousand people . It is aimed at young people between the ages of 7 and 18. It will take place from April 3 to 5.

Gamerland Costa Daurada: e-sports competition, also included within the Joint Promotion Program between the Hospitality and Tourism Business Federation (FEHT), the municipalities of Salou, Cambrils, Vila-seca, and the Diputació de Tarragona, together with the Catalan Tourism Agency, to position the territory as a reference venue for e-sports and e-games. It will be held from April 5 to 7, in the municipalities of Salou, Cambrils and Vila-seca.

Mare Nostrum Cup: Training football tournament with a long history and with greater participation that takes place in Salou, which moves around 5,000 participants and around 20,000 overnight stays in the municipality. It will take place from April 7 to 9, at the Futbol Salou Sports Center.

7th Rally Catalunya Històric: Competition of emblematic historical regularity vehicles and closed roads, which recovers renowned rally circuits. It brings together a hundred participants and mobilizes many lovers of classic vehicles. It will be held on April 14 and 15, with departure and arrival in Salou.

LOL Event: e-sports competition, from the League of Legends (LOL) video game, during the second quarter, at the PortAventura Convention Center. Another event was already held last year.

Children's Windsurfing Spanish Cup: Great windsurfing competition, with more than 100 participants from all over Spain. From April 27 to May 1, at Club Nàutic Salou.

Technifutbol Academy & Cruyff Futbol Methodology: New soccer training academy. It will be active throughout the year.

Future Falcons Academy: Academy rooted in the facilities of the Futbol Salou Sports Center for the development of soccer talent of the best players in Saudi Arabia. It is active throughout the year.

VIII Challenge Salou: Municipal triathlon event, a deeply rooted event in Salou. In 2022, the Salou competition received the Most Family Friendly Race 2022 recognition, which values the family environment of the race. It will be held on June 4.

Jungle Throwdown Salou: International crossfit event, which began in 2022, and which took place in one of the destination campsites. It will be held from September 30 to October 1.

RallyRACC Costa Daurada - Salou: Spanish Super Rally Championship and Catalan Championship, which recovers the shakedown on gravel and maintains the urban circuit in Paseo Jaume I in Salou. It will take place on October 21 and 22.

Surf Cup International: International children's competition of American origin, with the best American and European clubs, in November, at the Futbol Salou Sports Center.

Costa Daurada Trophy: International tournament for women's soccer teams, in December, at the Futbol Salou Sports Center.
