Cambrils implements a special campaign of donation of marrow for the small one Joel
Cambrils. Costa Dorada. The City of Cambrils, along with the Blood and Tissue Bank and the Foundation Carreras, have launched a special campaign for blood and bone marrow donation between 28 and 30 September. The case of Joel Rodriguez, a 6 years old from Cambrils affected by aplasia medulla, has been a great motivation for those involved to extend the traditional blood and bone marrow donation campaigns. The presentation has been supported by several elite athletes who wanted to show solidarity and encourage people to become a donor: - Berni Álvarez / CB Tarragona. - Antonio Pinilla / NASTIC Tarragona. - Ramon Plans / Technical Director of RCD Espanyol of Barcelona. - Josep Moratalla / FC Barcelona - Gustavo Saucedo / SP-SP volleyball. - Albert Cabestany / Pilot Trial. - Ivan Cervantes / Enduro Pilot. - Natalia Rodriguez / Athlete - Joan Olive / Pilot GP Donations may be carried out on 29 and 30 September. Those interested can head to Cambrils Hospital de la Proximitat, in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, between 10am and 2pm and 7pm and 21 pm. This year, however, those people who also want to become bone marrow donor wil be taken a sample through the same blood extraction. However, there is also the possibility of becoming a marrow donor without being a blood donor. Those who prefer this option will be included in a list to be called back later by the Blood and Tissue Bank. It is to be taken into account, however, that the compatibility of bone marrow is very complicated, with a statistic of 1 in 40,000. The act of becoming a donor means increasing the possibilities of helping people around the planet to find a compatible donor, and thus help to save their lives.
