New urban mobility plan (PMUS) promoted by Salou City Council that promotes mobility on foot, by bicycle and by public transport.
The objectives envisaged by this new plan are that mobility is more consistent (in accordance with the development of the municipality), more effective, and that there is a criterion for the rational use of means of transport. It is a plan that arises from the need for parking and public transport accentuated in the summer by the large number of tourists that Salou receives.
For this reason, the plan studies several alternatives with the objective of reducing internal journeys with motorized vehicles in favor of non-motorized ones. In addition, the traffic calming actions carried out so far by the City Council are particularly valued for the good results obtained and the plan urges to strengthen these measures, especially in the summer season, when the population increases due to the arrival of visitors and tourists in Salou. The final objective is to reduce the use of private motorized vehicles in the municipality of Salou by up to 11%.
