Good prices and last minute have a 91% occupancy in the hotel in Costa Dorada
Salou, Cambrils, La Pineda. Costa Dorada. The hotel occupancy in the central Gold Coast in the first fortnight of August 2009 was 91%, three points below that recorded last year for the same dates. This was found a first step of the data provided by the Foundation for Tourism Studies at the Costa Dorada for the Hotel Association Salou-Cambrils-La Pineda. The vice president of the Hotel Association, Joan Antoni Padró, welcomed these figures: "customer demand has been good, but it must be said that this was because there have been many offers and have also lowered prices as claim". The number of hotels open during the first half of August was 44,364. Although for the balance of the season we will need to know the figures for the whole month of August and September, the hotel occupancy during the first half of August is higher than that recorded last July. In this regard we must remember that hotel occupancy in the central Gold Coast during the month of July was 75%, as a first step in the Observatorio de la Fundación de Estudios Turísticos Costa Daurada. Last year, the rate in July stood at 92% and, therefore, the decline this year was 17%. Albeit slightly, the figures have improved during the first half of August, pending the final statement to be made at the end of the season.
