Torredembarra has launched an unprecedented campaign to promote the town as a tourist destination without overnight proximity . As explained the mayor, Daniel Massagué , on presentation last Tuesday , the goal is to attract a family audience mainly from Camp de Tarragona , to put Torredembarra into their weekend. The communication campaign revolves around the concept of " Torredembarra. The Miniterranean "because within a few kilometers of coastline Torredembarra offers all the attributes of the Mediterranean: a magnificent coastline, excellent cuisine, Mediterranean culture, family entertainment , shopping integrated into the urban landscape, rest and relaxation , coexistence of modernity and tradition etc. .

Another aspect that particularly stressed the mayor is that this campaign is a great bet to revitalize the commercial sector of Torredembarra, placing value on the characteristics of the town because you'll have tourist life , shopping and dining all year .

Daniel Massagué also highlighted that Torredembarra tourism sector is one of the most important economic engines of the population. However, the tourist history of Torredembarra does not resemble anything to other towns in the vicinity of the Costa Dorada: the emerging tourism industry has not amassed the village of hotel rooms . Torredembarra itself has become a major center of tourism second homes (10,000 of the 17,000 units in the housing stock of the town can be considered a second home ) and defends its residential tourism model .

Complementing the residential model , the City wants to promote tourism capture proximity without overnight outside the seasonality of the summer window . In this sense, the mayor said already developed some activities outside of the summer season in which they have obtained very good results of public and commercial activities such as the Feast of the battle , the Indians Fair or the Christmas Fair.

The Councillor for Tourism, Trade and Economic Development, Ignasi Duran , said that Torredembarra continues to carry out national and international developments so far, with attendance at fairs and others, but they must influence the tourism of proximity so they come to spend the day in Torredembarra, visiting the village and do so frequently.

The campaign is already set up with a powerful promotional first action that will be repeated and updated as needed.
