Salou provides 2,000 new hotel rooms with the development of the Emprius Nord plan

Together, the project provides for up to 2,000 new hotel rooms, up to 145 new homes, a space for the development of a sports town of 8 hectares and an area of ​​17,000 square meters of commercial roof. Currently, in Salou there are 68 hotels that offer about 35,000 hotel beds. The Emprius Nord partial plan project foresees that between two and four new resort-type hotels could be built that would have a maximum floor height of + 4 and a staggered floor plan with the aim of achieving greater integration of the buildings in the environment.

Both the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados and the territorial management councilor, Marc Montagut, were convinced of the need to make private land available for the construction of new hotel and commercial projects and for development Of sports tourism, since there is a demand on the part of the private sector to invest in these areas.

The project of the partial plan Emprius Nord must still go through a series of administrative procedures until its final approval, but if nothing prevents, the municipal government Salou foresees by 2018 the start of urbanization works. As for the realization of the projects (new hotels, sports, residential and commercial area) an optimistic forecast indicates that all this could be developed in a period of about five years, or even before, always depending on the pace of investment that can reach the new projects.
