After 32 years of existence, the Associació Hotelera Salou-Cambrils-la Pineda has decided to expand its scope of action to host other establishments in the territory. Thus, on May 27, 2021, the entity's general assembly decided to modify its statutes and change its name to Associació Hotelera Costa Daurada i Terres de l’Ebre to host establishments throughout the province of Tarragona.
As explained by its president, Jaume Orteu, “given the current complex situation and at the request of different establishments in other towns, we have decided to grow and make all our know-how and services available to hotels throughout the demarcation to help them leave of this situation with the best possible guarantees ".
The Association now includes in its name the two main tourist brands in the demarcation since "they are two tourist brands that represent the entire tourism sector and that provide very positive synergies."
Faced with this territorial expansion, the Associació Hotelera Costa Daurada i Terres de l’Ebre will have delegates with representation on the board. Specifically, the delegations are these:
- Costa Dorada Norte
- Costa Dorada Center
- Terres de l’Ebre
- Inland regions
The president of the association explained that the entity groups Associates of all categories from 5-star hotels to pensions, of all sizes (hotels with 700 rooms and less than 100) and from large chains or family and independent hotels, and For all this, "our main objective is to serve and represent you all."
The figures from the Associació Hotelera are to make you dizzy:
- 55,000 hotel beds, 85% of the province
- 13,500 workers
- 3.1 million visitors stayed at partner hotels in 2019
- 11 million overnight stays in 2019 (52.4% of the total demarcation)
Now the Assocació Hotelera will initiate a communication campaign to explain to all the establishments of the demarcation the services they offer to encourage them to join the project.
