Commitment and involvement
The Gastronomic Rice Days are the first activity of the Salou Food Experience 2024 Gastronomic Agenda, which proposes various experiences throughout the year to enjoy the best gastronomy of the Costa Daurada.
In the presentation of the Conference, the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, highlighted the municipality's firm commitment to position itself as a prestigious gastronomic center because "the city has potential, professionalism and history." Furthermore, the mayor of Salou added that “we have to recognize the ambitious work of restaurant businessmen and professionals; their commitment, their involvement and dedication. It is as important as it is indisputable.”
For his part, the president of the Association of Hospitality Entrepreneurs (AEH) of Salou and Michelin star chef, Pep Moreno, added that “if Salou has something as a gastronomic cultural wealth, it is that it has a great variety of restaurants and rice is a link that can unite a sushi restaurant, a Thai restaurant, a Spanish restaurant and an Italian restaurant.” Likewise, he wanted to point out that the Gastronomic Rice Days “are the first days that were held in Salou and they continue to be very successful: restaurateurs are looking forward to the date for them to begin.”
Finally, the Councilor for Economic Dynamization of Salou, Héctor Maíquez, explained that “these are very consolidated events, surely because they have a lot to do with a product of such quality as rice.”
