Flavour Spain inaugurated the Congress of Gastronomy
Tarragona. Costa Dorada. It was held in Madrid the Ist European Congress on Tourism and Gastronomy, which are brought together representatives from all sectors involved in the creation, promotion and marketing of tourism products linked to international cuisine. The secretary general of the Spanish Federation of Hotelerea (Fehr), Emilio Gallego, participated in representation of Spain eat at the round table "Gastronomy and Tourism, chaired by Director General of Turespaña, Antonio Bernabe, who spoke and the among others, Chef Juan Mari Arzak. The main objective of the eat Spain is the creation of a club which product is the potential of gastronomic tourism to attract tourists to our country, using the "dining experience" to diversify and seasonal activity for consolidating destinations . Santiago, San Sebastian, Lleida, Madrid, Gijón, Lanzarote and Cambrils were seven destinations pilot who started the project of what has been realized with the incorporation of new cities such as Valencia, Ciudad Real, Albacete Zaragoza. The project objective is to have a network of about twenty destinations in the first quarter 2011. Among the next actions to be carried out include a calendar that lists the activities of a gastronomic occur during the year across the country, creating a web page, making "gastromapes" implementation a promotional event to be held in June, or the organization of culinary demonstrations "Expotapas."
