The Agricultural Cooperative of Cambrils prepares a new edition of the party of the new oil

Cambrils. Costa Dorada. 21 October 2013. The Agricultural Cooperative of Cambrils organises for the day 3 of next November a new edition of the party of the new oil, a referent to the festive calendar of Cambrils, where the peasantry celebrates the arrival of the new harvest of olives. The popular breakfast, that gathers more than 1.200 people, will begin in the morning with the llonganissa and the bread toasted with new oil, all folded with performances of local groups and in a ambient festive, at the premises of the road of Cambrils-Montbrió.

The Cooperative initiated on Monday October 14th the campaign 2013-2014, in which the forecasts are to surpass the 4 million kilos of olives that will suppose some 700.000 litres of oil of extra virgin olive. The quality foreseen is very good, after a rainy spring and a dry summer. Precisely as a première of the new season, this same week has put in the sale the new oil of green olives Mistral, true juice of the olives produced by the Cooperative. It is extra virgin oil without filtering, as it go out to the ray of the mill. An authentic product of vicinity that from now on and until the month of December will be to find to the agroshops of the Cooperative in Cambrils and Reus.

Inthe last campaign 2012-2013, the production of the cooperative was of 3,5 million kilos of olives and some 600.000 litres of extra virgin oil, that is sold mostly packed under the brands of the Cooperative Mistral and Aragem, highlighting and in previous years an important growth of the exports that already suppose 25% of the sales of oil.

On the other hand, this 2013 also has been a year of recognitions; in July, the Cooperative received of hands of the minister Miguel Arias Cañete the prize to the best oil of the State to the category of mature fruit awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture. This awards is recognised as the most important prize to the quality, that the Cooperative has received for third time. Equally, by the month of June obtained the Liderpack to the best packaging 2013, a recognition also to the important effort in the presentation of the products from Cambrils.
