Reus is preparing to host the 17th Fair Siurana oil - Festival of New Oil

This Friday November 15 in Reus opens the 17th Fair of Siurana oil . It is the New Oil Festival , which will be open in Square Llibertat that same the day from 17-21 h and on Saturday from 10-14 h and 17-21 h . The two days there will be several events related, such as tastings and musical performances. The opening ceremony is scheduled on Friday at 7 pm .

Reus Fair of Siurana oil was born in 1997, which was created to bring together the most important producers of the DOP Siurana , which collectively have new oil of the season. The exhibition is organized by Reus Promotion Agency , the Council of the Union DOP Siurana and Reus Food Corporation , in collaboration with the Union of Shopkeepers in Reus.

Reus , a city of great tradition in olive oil production , remains first in Catalonia which presents the new oil of the season, and the first where attendees have the opportunity to try and buy 21 new oils different from the appellation of origin Siurana . The Fair Reus Siurana oil every year receives many visitors from outside the demarcation Tarragona , and it is estimated that approximately 25% of buyers come from outside Reus. • Children's workshop canned olives. Organized by the entity Cel Rogent, also collect the different recipes on how to make the canned olives.
• Gastronomic 'Oil Siurana ' participation of 15 restaurants Inmates that 15 to November 24 elaborate dishes that give value DOP Siurana oil .
• Participation of Virginias Products with a tasting booth and cookies made with oil DOP Siurana .
• Competition commercial displays and photography competition organized by the Union of Shopkeepers . The Feast of the oil : lunch and tasting

This time there are 14 restaurants in the city of Reus participating in this sample cuisine.
