Shambhala takes off, the new star attraction at PortAventura
Salou - Vila-seca, Costa Dorada. Today, Saturday May 12 at noon, has started the new attraction Shambhala, the most ambitious initiative PortAventura since it opened in 1995 with an investment of 25 million euros. The Shambhala, the biggest rollercoaster in Europe, changed the skyline of the park and the Gold Coast until now chaired by the Dragon Khan. This new icon PortAventura achieved 3 European records: the highest attraction (76 m), the longest drop (78m) and hypercoaster faster with 134 km / h. The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Artur Mas, which has risen in the Shambhala with Fernando Aldecoa, Managing Director of PortAventura, and Luís Valencia, director of Development and responsible for the construction of Shambhala. Shambhala is located in the subject area of China and occupies an area of 14,000 square meters. It's set and inspired by the magic and hidden snowy mountains of the Himalayas, which according to legend is a rather intangible that can only be reached through the mind.
