Salou is in solidarity with the victims of Haiti and allocates 3,000 Catalan Cooperation Fund
Salou. Costa Dorada. The Local Government Board Salou City Council this morning unanimously agreed to grant the sum of 3,000 euros to the Catalan Cooperation Fund for Development which it is intended to aid deemed necessary in relation to the thousands affected by earthquake in Haiti that rocked the country last January 12 and caused numerous human and material losses in different cities. With this gesture, the government wants to show solidarity with the international aid that is being flushed from anywhere in the world to try to the grave humanitarian situation prevailing in the country. "It's a gesture that had to do as people to try to contribute our bit," said the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados. It is recalled that before this catastrophe, the Catalan Fund has launched an emergency campaign in the philosophy of post-emergency reconstruction to support the efforts the country itself has begun to carry out with the backing of international cooperation and that Salou has wanted to join.
