Salou Capital of Catalan Culture: program of events

Modernist Chalet Bonet in Salou



Salou. Costa Dorada. 27 February 2025. From March 2025 to February 2026, every month of the year will be a non-stop cultural event and activity of all kinds in Salou, the Capital of Catalan Culture. Concerts, plays, renowned artists, popular and traditional cultural activities, sports, art and gastronomy, as well as the reopening of museums and cultural spaces. Salou leaves nothing behind to prove that it is, without a doubt, the best exponent of Catalan Culture 2025.

Although a large part of the programme has already been announced, it is not yet finalised and is presented as a live and open proposal, to integrate new initiatives that may arise. Thus, the programme of events that has been announced is as follows:

March-April
  • March 18: opening ceremony by TV3 journalist Ramon Pellicer and the children's choir Veus - Cor Infantil Amics de la Unió
  • March 21: Start of programming at the Teatre Auditori de Salou (TAS) with Marc Giró and his RAC 1 program “ Vostè primer”.
  • March 27 (World Theater Day): The actor Creu de Sant Jordi Joan Pera will present “Un sobre de lloguer”.
  • III Salou Performing Arts Festival with theatre, cinema and the premiere of the CineClub Miramar Salou.
  • Salou Activo Activities: Sardana dancing course, creation of Easter cakes, visit to the Poblet monastery (1000th anniversary).
  • Sardana dance for Sant Jordi with the Cobla Reus Jove.
  • April 20: Celtas Cortos concert
  • April 26: Lacemakers' meeting.
  • April 27: El Pot Petit show with "Un gran salt"
May
  • 10th anniversary of the Triathlon Challenge Salou with exhibitions of Catalan culture and a monologue by Javi Sancho.
  • Rally Legends 2025 with a prize for the best driver of a Catalan-made car.
  • Visits to the machine gun nests on the Salou coast, which will be open to the public for the first time.
  • Domino Open Capital of Catalan Culture
June
  • Meeting of century-old cars (up to 1925), highlighting vehicles made in Catalonia
  • III Salou Mural Painting Competition with Catalan cultural themes
  • New Cybernetic Fountains show, based on the history of Salou

  • Free Cinema Festival on the Beaches of Salou
  • Great fire run: 15 years of the Colla de Diables la Morena

  • Regional dance meeting
  • Rumba night as a tribute to modern Catalan music
  • Habaneras meeting during the Nits Daurades, Salou's biggest festival par excellence
  • Procession of guests with traditional cultural groups
  • Summer Correfoc with the Colla de Diables Maleïts and a group from the Valencian Country
September
  • King James I Festival with conferences, exhibitions, parade and medieval market
  • International Tourism Day with the show "Turist (or not tourist)" of the Clownic company
  • September 28 (LGBTQ+ Pride Day): Brigitta show Lamoure with "A Date with Brigitta"
October and November
  • Presentation of the book on the history of Salou produced by the Rovira i Virgili University (URV)
  • Premiere of the Modernism- Noucentisme Route of Salou
  • GastroArt & Wine at the Torre Vella
  • Premiere of an unreleased sardana by Josep Ma Baiges
  • Opening of the Calle de la Cultura, a new cultural space in the City Hall
  • Salou Literary Awards with the Salou Writers Association

  • November 9: Opera "Giuseppe Riconosciuto" with the baroque orchestra Vespers of Arnadí
  • The musical “El Petit Príncep” with Manu Guix and Àngel Llàcer

50 years of the Squid Festival with a meeting of giants, exhibitions and talks about the fishing tradition of the municipality. Popular festival

In addition, the programme includes the following shows:
  • For Santa Cecilia: Ramon Gener, José Corbacho and the Vallès Symphony Orchestra will present “Love, Love, Love
  • Magic show by Dakris, the invisible magician
  • Performance by Alberto Sanjuán with “Macho, grita”.
  • To commemorate the Week of the Elderly, the play “Las Pensionistas” with Loreto Valverde, Irma Soriano and Rosa Benito.
