Tarragona hosts the last show of the XVII Biennial of Catalan Contemporary Art
Tarragona. Costa Dorada. On Friday 20 January 2012 opened the Port of Tarragona last exhibition of the XVII Biennial of Contemporary Art Catalan. The opening ceremony will be led by the regional coordinator of Youth in Tarragona, Joan Plana, President of the Tarragona Port Authority, Josep Andreu, and the director of the Biennale of Contemporary Art Catalan, Josep Canals. The Biennial, founded in 1977 and organized by Channels-Art Gallery, with support from the Generalitat of Catalonia and various municipalities and public and private institutions, shows some of the most representative of trends in visual art to young Catalan the present. Since its inception, its purpose is to stimulate and promote creativity among visual artists resident in Catalonia, under 35 years, paying special attention to the components of innovation. The works selected this year have created a traveling exhibition that has toured for two years several Catalan towns, the city of Tarragona to an end.
