The Minister for Tourism inaugurated the Science Park Tourism and Leisure of the URV

Vila-seca. Costa Dorada. Josep Huguet, Minister for Innovation, Universities and Enterprise of the Generalitat de Catalunya, presided the opening ceremony of the new Science and Technology Park of Tourism and Leisure, University Rovira i Virgili. The Directorate General of Tourism is part of the department chaired by Huguet.   The new science park is located in Vila-seca has been made possible through collaboration between the University Rovira i Virgili (URV), the municipality of Vila-seca, the Business Federation of Hotels and Tourism of the province of Tarragona (FEHT), agencies, promoters of the project, which has also been supported by the Ministry of Science and Innovation. The aim of this science park, which employs a dozen people, is to improve knowledge and providing the tourism sector, with the aim of promoting the competitiveness of the sector. Therefore, the park has the support of both government agencies and the private sector. Currently, the Technology Park of Tourism and Leisure of the URV and houses a number of business associations, including the area of formation of the Business Federation of Hotels and Tourism of the province of Tarragona, the Camping Association of Tarragona, Costa Daurada and Terres de l'Ebre and the Spanish Association of Nautical. For its part, the Minister of Tourism of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Josep Huguet, said the tourism sector as one of the potential for the projection of Catalonia and the Costa Dorada in the world and in this sense, the minister stated that ' position is that betting and tourism unique and specific to each territory to be positioned properly in the international arena". The launch of the new Science and Technology Park of Tourism and Leisure, University Rovira i Virgili also attended by the Rector of the University Rovira i Virgili, Francesc Xavier Grau, the Mayor of Vila-seca, Josep Poblet's President Business Federation of Hotels and Tourism of the province of Tarragona (FEHT), Josep Martí, and the sub-delegated by the Government, Teresa Pallarès.
