An exhibition on the heritage of dry stone constructions, in Hospitalet
Vandellòs. Hospitalet de l'Infant. Costa Dorada. On Thursday 12 May 2011, at 8pm, inaugurated the showroom in Hospitalet Infant Peter, the show: 'Dry Stone Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre. Heritage and landscape. This is a traveling exhibition of Tarragona Province that runs through images, the technique of dry stone construction, which has resulted in numerous rural and agricultural buildings in the province. Its objective is to disseminate the rich heritage of dry stone constructions in the province, plus announced yesterday and today in which some buildings are not only aesthetic values but also the cultural values related with the use of tools and techniques based on unique empirical knowledge of the territory. In the dry stone constructions not used any other material that the stone, using their intrinsic characteristics and mechanical and playing brilliantly when placing them, to achieve the necessary stability and rigidity, resulting in countless ways. The Tarragona region are particularly rich in such assets. A lot of the buildings should add variety, both structural and functional aspects as formal. These buildings, often modest, but extensive implementation and limited in all cases, assets were revalued as a strong identity, indissoluble in rural areas in general and the world's agricultural and livestock in particular. This exhibition will be Hospitalet until 27th May. Visiting times are from 5pm to 8pm.
