The climber Josep Castellnou, star of the second session of the series of conferences

This evening was held in Tarragona Province the second session of the 5th Conference Series Mountain, this year devoted to mountaineering, caving and Scheldt. The climber Joseph Henry Castellnou gave a lecture on "Rock of legend: the rise in the mountains of Tarragona." Castellnou born in 1970 under the watchful eye of rocks Tivissa, which had the first contact with the stone 30 years ago. He combined learning from climbing the walls of his house which is still legendary and Montserrat. Once he graduated he dared to see the world "to discover that a home and school, some sites will always be loved, and maybe there are better destinations elsewhere." Entitled "The Mountain 3D", the 5th edition of the series about mountaineering last until next March 1. This initiative, organized by the Council and the Alpine Club K2, has this year a total of four sessions, where experts mountaineers, climbers and cavers share their experiences with the public. The inaugural lecture, "7 mountains and a woman," was given to the climber Rosa Fernández (Cangas del Narcea, Asturias, 1960), the only Spanish woman who has completed the 7 summits challenge / 7 continents. The cycle continues The third session of the series will be held at the Palau Delegation on 23 February, at 19.30, and will be given by the speleologist Josep Lluís Almiñana that the lecture: "The Urban Cave of Tarragona, amazing caving under a Roman town. " The closing of the cycle will take place on Thursday, March 1, number 4 in the shed at the Port of Tarragona, with the world premiere of the documentary "Beyond Kumbhakarna" by mountaineer Oscar Cadiach, and reflects how the Nepalese sherpa Migma got crowned the 14 peaks over 8,000 meters. An exhibition complements the lectures As part of the 5th Conference Series Mountain, Provincial presents the photography exhibition "Discovering the cave city of Tarragona", which can be seen in the courtyard of the Palau of the inter-institution until Sunday 26 February. This show is part of traveling exhibitions, a service Tarragona Province provides municipalities of the territory in order to decentralize and bring the exhibits throughout the province.
