Catalunya banks will satellite jellyfish to avoid arriving on the beaches
The Catalan government will monitor banks of satellite jellyfish to avoid, as far as possible, arriving on the beaches of Catalonia. This procedure is added to make the follow-up and light aircraft, boats and fishermen's associations. The purpose of this procedure is the detection of jellyfish to take action and prevent them from reaching the bathing areas, without this entailing the extermination of the individuals who are detected. Anyway, according to the Ministry of the Environment, a pretty quiet summer on the arrival of jellyfish to the Catalan coast. According to this advice, the highest risk for the arrival of jellyfish are Roses (Girona), Barcelona and the coastal area of Cabo Salou. Francesc Baltasar, Minister of the Environment has said, however, that during the first week of campaign coastal waters has been observed a less significant presence of jellyfish on the beaches of Catalonia. However, from Balthazar has specified that the Catalan Water Agency, local councils and fishermen's associations will be very carefully developments in the presence of jellyfish in the waters of Catalonia. Moreover, until September 25, Catalonia will have 44 boats and a plane to do cleaning duties and observation of coastal waters.
