The Catalan Tourism awarded certification Sports Tourism Destination in Cambrils
Cambrils. Costa Dorada. January 25, 2013. The director of the Catalan Tourism (ACT), Xavier Sword, presented today at the Mayor of Cambrils, Merced Dalmau, diploma certifying the municipality as a Sports Tourism Destination (DTE), in the form of certified multi sports (specializing in athletics, football, sailing and cycling). The ceremony was also attended by the Secretary General for Sport, Ivan Tibau. The director of the ACT has congratulated the town of Cambrils "by having municipal sports facilities so high that has allowed him to achieve this certification," and the mayor of Cambrils especially wanted to highlight "the good work done by accommodation and Cambrils travel agencies, which work with the promotion and marketing of the sports in the municipality have been key players in achieving this seal of specialization. " For his part, Ivan Tibau said "this distinction is important from both an economic and tourism point of view, but also sports. The sports tradition of Cambrils is rewarded with a stamp that benefits our sport and Catalonia to project internationally. " Cambrils has a municipal sports facilities high standard, among which the Palau Municipal d'Esports (with an indoor pool, a pavilion synthetic triple, fitness and bodybuilding, spinning room, and area 'hydro-relaxation) Municipal Stadium (three artificial pitches and natural grass, two sports courts, golf and archery and photo), a running track eight streets and 400 feet of rope; and a sports area on the beach where you can play beach volleyball, beach football, basketball and jogging among others. In addition, the town has a marina Cambrils known for their facilities and organization of competitions for its sailing school children. Also, many cycling teams from France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg choose Cambrils each year as the nerve center for your workouts and staying prepared. Cambrils has hosted numerous championships over Catalans and state, such as the Children's Sailing Championship in Spain, the Spanish Championship Archery, Sailing Championship of Catalonia, Beach Volleyball Championship of Catalonia, and the Championship Skating in Catalonia, among others. Cambrils certification as DTE provide the municipality a number of advantages, such as having tools to improve the promotion and marketing of the destination, especially in the segment of sports, favoring seasonal work towards, a segment traveling mainly in spring and autumn strengthen collaboration with the tourism industry of the municipality, partner and sponsor of many sports that are in Cambrils, and profitable sports facilities from the local perspective economic, social and sporting activities. In addition, Cambrils plans to continue working for the modalities chosen specialization, but also encouraging others that may become sporting goods themselves. Indeed, on 31 January as part of FITUR, the International Tourism Fair of Madrid, the Catalan Tourism Agency held a ceremony recognizing all Catalan municipalities certified seal DTE. The event was chaired by Minister for Enterprise and Employment, Felip Puig, attended by representatives of local destinations certified.
