The Railway Carrilet Reus-Salou opened on June 23, 1857. This route facilitated the transportation of the goods that arrived by the coast and were aimed at the Costa Dorada's capital. He was also a popular mode of transport used by the inhabitants of Reus to enjoy during the summer months, the beaches of Salou. The railway station linking Carrilet Salou and Reus, and acted as economic and social link between these two populations of the Camp de Tarragona.
Today, this historic resort has been recovered, restored and converted into a leisure area for children. Now, Salou has a new children's center is meant to be a space open to children of Salou, where you can enjoy recreational and educational activities.
