Antenna Knowledge of the URV in Cambrils HALL OF POETRY Reading poems Carme Riera Friday, 14 January 2011 • 19 pm Civic Center "The Ponds" - Cambrils Carme Riera (Palma de Mallorca) is narrator, writer and essayist. Doctor in Philology and is a university professor (Professor of Spanish Literature at the Autonomous University of Barcelona). Author of a work rich in references and popular cults, has used since his first collection of stories Leave you, love the sea as a pledge (1975) Majorca colloquial speech with skill and without prejudice. He has been awarded, among others, the awards Prudence Bertrana novel, 1980 A spring for Domenico Guarini, Ramon Llull, 1989 Mirror, Josep Pla, 1994 In the last blue historical novel that also received awards Crexells John, Gold Letter, the National Narrative of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Department of Elio Vittorini of Syracuse. In 2001 he received the National Prize for Literature, awarded by the Generalitat of Catalonia, the sky opened, and in 2003 the St. George Award for the novel half of the soul. The Generalitat of Catalonia granted in 2000, the Cross of St. George and in 2005 the Island Council Gold Medal of the Council of Mallorca. His latest novel is eyed Americans (2009). Poetry in the Classroom, Carme Riera will give us an almost unknown facet of his literary activity: the creation of poetry. It will be a true world first.
